GPT 4 Features
With the release of GPT 4 AI, Open AI has offered some new features for audiences. The focus of these features is to significantly enhance productivity and provide top-notch assistance to mankind. The latest GPT version is capable of solving some complex inputs which GPT 3.5 could not process or give an assured solution to. Through its official website, Open AI openly talks about the capabilities of GPT 4. “In casual conversations, the distinction between GPT 3.5 & GPT-4 can be subtle. The difference comes out when the complexity of the task reaches a sufficient threshold.” Further, GPT-4 is more reliable, creative, and able to handle much more nuanced instructions than GPT-3.5.
To test the features and abilities of the model, Open AI conducted tests on numerous benchmarks, including simulating exams that were originally designed for humans, using GPT-4. Chat GPT took part in some of the most human intelligence requiring exams such as LSAT, Uniform Bar Exam, SAT Math, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) – quantitative, verbal, as well as writing, and many more. In the results, the latest version of Chat GPT outperformed GPT 3.5 with mind-blowing numbers proving that the new GPT AI is gradually becoming smarter than most people. Infamous already for the picture reading feature, GPT 4.0 is also capable of the following tasks.
Can Read Images
GPT-4 can read images pretty well and also explain what the image is about. In the previous versions of Chat GPT, the users could only submit their input in the form of text. Through GPT 4 users can share images with the AI and ask questions related to the image. The AI will be able to identify different elements in the image, recognize the colors used, and comprehend and articulate charts, diagrams, etc.

Can Handle Up To 25,000 Words
GPT 4.0 is now capable of handling up to 25,000 words. This enhanced capability can help with extensive content creation and extended conversations. Earlier, users could only input a limited amount of text on Chat GPT after which the AI would not respond. However, now users can ask the AI to analyze the content lengths of up to 25,000 words or 8000 tokens. The GPT 4 token costs $0.03 or 2.48 Indian rupees and $0.06 or 4.97 Indian rupees per 1k completion token.
Can ‘Role Play’
In collaboration with the popular language learning app – Duolingo, GPT 4 will be assisting the application’s latest feature: “Roleplay”. Through this feature, the GPT 4 will be roleplaying as a tutor and helping the students through the conversations. The AI would also be powering another feature – “Explain My Answer”. While learning a new language, if a student makes any mistake, GPT 4 will break down the rules of that language. From here, the student can either click on “Explain My Answer” to get a response or get back to the lesson. Students at Duolingo will have to take the “Max” subscription in order to take advantage of OpenAI’s new GPT-4 technology. Duolingo max costs $29.99 monthly (INR 2,481) or $167.99 (INR 13,899) per year.
Can Be A Classroom Assistant
GPT 4 is now all set to become a classroom assistant with the Khan Academy. Khan academy is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches students by the means of video lectures. Khan Academy announced that they will be deploying the GPT-4 API to work as a virtual tutor and act as a classroom assistant for the teachers. Khan Academy is currently working on the feature and believes that it will help students to “contextualize the greater relevance of what they are studying or tech-specific points of computer programming.”

Can Help Visually Challenged People
The GPT-4 feature is designed to assist visually impaired individuals. GPT 4 can now act as the eyes for people with visual disabilities. As discussed already, GPT-4 can take image prompts and this can greatly help people with visual impairment. The “Be My Eyes” app is soon going to employ this GPT feature. The app serves as a platform for visually impaired people to receive assistance from various volunteers for performing a wide range of tasks, such as reading a piece of information, differentiating between colors, etc.
The limited capabilities of the Be My Eyes app to provide assistance to its users through volunteers often make it difficult for them to receive prompt help. With the incorporation of GPT-4 technology, the app aims to overcome this limitation. Using the latest GPT-4 technology, the users of the Be My Eyes app will be able to share images with the AI and ask any questions they might have to get a prompt reply. This feature is currently in testing and the users of “Be My Eyes” can register themselves to be on the waitlist for receiving the latest GPT-4 update.
Limitations Of GPT-4 AI Model
In the words of Open AI, the GPT-4 is far from perfect. Although exciting to use, GPT-4 has some undeniable limitations which Open AI has already informed the users. The AI maintains similar limitations to earlier GPT models. The model is not completely reliable and the developers are currently working on the following restrictions.
A) GPT-4 Is Not Completely Reliable: Open AI accepts that the new model is not completely reliable as it still possesses limitations like hallucinations. GPT 4 AI “hallucinates” facts and can make reasoning errors. Open AI suggests that individuals must take great care when using language model outputs, especially in high-stakes contexts, and the exact protocol should match the requirements of specific applications. It is recommended to exercise caution while using the outputs of GPT-4, especially in contexts where reliability is of significant importance, is recommended.
B) Can Be Confidently Wrong: As the new GPT AI is not completely reliable, it can confidently produce wrong information. As the model faces the issue of “hallucinations” it may provide false information confidently. For your information, hallucinations refer to instances in which the model generates outputs that contain information that is not based on reality or data that the AI was trained on. For example, if you ask GPT-4 to summarize an article, it may add additional/unnecessary information confidently.
C) Has limited context window: Currently, GPT-4 is still facing the restriction of a limited context window. GPT-4 can only take into account a certain number of words and phrases in conversations or text output.
D) “Jailbreaks” Prompts: Jailbreak prompts usually help the testers of GPT to push the limits of the model beyond its typical behavior or intended use. However, some users, in a number of ways, often misuse these jailbreak prompts. Presently, GPT-4 can not differentiate between healthy and unhealthy jailbreak prompts. Jailbreak prompts can cause a number of problems such as:
- Harmful or offensive content: GPT-4 can produce harmful or offensive content such as hate speech, misinformation, or propaganda.
- Vulnerabilities: Jailbreak prompts can be used to identify or exploit the vulnerabilities of the AI model which can then be exploited for malicious purposes. For example, a user may use jailbreak prompts to generate a phishing email that is specifically designed to bypass any email filtering system.
E) Lack Of Knowledge Of Recent Events: Just like its predecessors, the new GPT-4 AI model does not possess the power to automatically seek out and consume news or information on its own. GPT-4’s reliance is still on the data it was trained on, which has a cut-off date of September 2021. Thus, GPT-4 may not provide any information or any reliable information on events that may have occurred after September 2021.
F) Bias: GPT-4, can be biased due to the nature of the data it is trained on. Biases can arise in the training data, which can result in the model producing biased outputs. Due to bias, the AI may not perform well in demographics or cultures it was not trained for. As GPT-4 is a language model that predicts the next word in a sentence based on previous words, it could generate outputs that are sensitive to the language used in the training data. Although Open AI claims to have carefully moderated the model, they commit that the AI may produce biased content in various ways. Bias in the outputs of GPT-4 may also arise because of bias or discrimination in the prompts entered by the user.
Open AI warns that both GPT-4-early and GPT-4-launch continue to reinforce social biases and worldviews. The GPT-4 AI is trained on large datasets and these datasets may contain biases and stereotypes. Because of such datasets, GPT-4 may produce outputs that include gender or racial stereotypes or may present a biased worldview.
G) Privacy: The training of GPT-4 involves utilizing extensive data sources that may include publicly available personal information, which could comprise exclusive information about public figures and celebrities. The AI model is capable of synthesizing different types of information and performing multiple reasoning steps to complete a given task. There is a risk that GPT-4 could be used to identify individuals when augmented with outside data. Open AI is working on fine-tuning the model to reject privacy-violating requests, removing personal information from the training database, as well as creating automated model evaluations.
